Pontiac was an auto maker that has been around for decades and Auto Transport Quote Services loves the brand. They have some great vehicles that we have transported for years such as the: GTO, Fiero, Grand Am, Grand Prix, Solstice, G8, Trans Am, and Firebird. There were some obvious missteps and crap cars from Pontiac as well such as the: Sunfire, Aztek, Firefly, Vibe and many others. Pontiac deserves to be back in the GM family and given a rebirth of sorts now that GM is making better vehicles again (besides the Chevrolet Spark… that car is crap).
There have been rumors for a few years now that the Trans Am / Firebird are making a comeback, but those have only been rumors and nothing has been announced at all for that. A great starting lineup if Pontiac were to make a comeback would be:
- Pontiac GTO (give it an old school feel like Dodge did with the Challenger and make it a muscle car instead of a family sedan)
- Pontiac Grand Am (it has been a staple for Pontiac for many years)
- Pontiac Grand Prix (also a staple for many years)
- Pontiac Trans Am / Firebird (give it a look similar to the mock up seen online recently)
Those four cars are exactly what is needed to bring back a Pontiac brand. Those are all cars that were successful for Pontiac and still can be. With the Grand Am, make it in a coupe and a sedan and give it a 4 cylinder engine for fuel economy. Have the Grand Prix be the big brother of the Grand Am and have it only be a 4 door sedan with a nice V-6 and more room than the Grand Am. Then you have the GTO which would be the All-American muscle car. Give it an old-school coupe potentially a convertible option and give it some real muscle and nice V-8 or supercharged V-6. Get other companies like Hennessey invoiced to make after production vehicles that are even more insane (in a good way of course). Then finally top off the lineup with the Trans Am / Firebird. This needs to be similar to the Camaro, but we want it to be a different car. This would be under the GTO, but it should still have some toughness to it. Put in a V-6 engine and possible make this a 2 seater car with T-Tops. Lets get serious, no one could ever comfortable fit in the back of the 1990’s-2000’s Trans Am/Firebord models anyway.
Pontiac could still be a great company, but GM needs to stop with the crappy cars it tends to put out. Get rid of the Spark’s, Aztek’s, and Vibe’s of the lineup and put in quality cars. Any company would be successful if that were the case.
