After many months of teasing and speculation Auto Transport Quote Services brings to you the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is finally unveiled. Since the Camaro rebirth back in 2009 the Camaro has been one of the hottest modern century hot-rods outselling the Ford Mustang each and every year. That is a proud stat that Chevrolet will likely hold close to their heart. We have transported many of these vehicles to customers door steps over the past few years on our open and enclosed haulers and we love this vehicle.
The new 2016 Chevrolet Camaro looks a little different, but it still look amazing. Looks was never a problem or a concern for the Camaro. Even though the outside appearance looks the same, under the hood is vastly different. There are three engines to choose from with the new Camaro and they are all new for the Camaro. The Camaro SS will feature an LTI 6.2 liter V-8 that pumps out 455 horsepower and 455 pounds of torque. Then engine was actually from the Stingray, but Chevy needed this also in the Camaro. The Camaro also has a 3.6 liter V-6 engine that knocks out 335 horsepower and 284 pounds of torque. The last option of engines is a 4 cylinder turbo that gets 275 horsepower and 295 pounds of torque. That last option is actually quite impressive for a four cylinder engine. Also, the new Camaro is lighter by about 200 pounds than the previous generation Camaro. Chevrolet achieved this by its new Alpha setup. The chassis is shared similarly with the Cadillac ATS, but it actually wider for better performance and the body is much closer to the classic so less material used overall.
If you are putting the Mustang and the Camaro side by side in the specs department, the base Mustang wins with its base 300 horsepower, but the Camaro going 4 cylinder will attract other buyers that may like the look of the Camaro, but want better gas mileage. There is always a tag of war with performance and gas mileage. Don’t let the four cylinder fool you though, it gets 0 to 60 in less than 6 seconds. That is actually faster than the original Camaro SS that was brought out in 1967.
The interior of the new Camaro is much better and much more thought out than the previous generation. The dash looks sleek and modern but will the slight old school feel to it. The air vents look great, the touchscreen stereo look amazing and everything is at the drivers fingertips. There should not be many complaints about the interior of this generation of Camaro. Chevrolet really put some quality time and effort into this one.
We cannot wait to transport one of these and I am sure there are many people looking forward to driving one as well.
