Auto Transport Quote Services is not a huge fan of most concept cars because they look too radical that the auto makers would never put to market. Why spend tons of money and work hours creating a concept of a car that will never see the light of day or not even close to what a production made will look like? I could draw up design of a mega-transporter that will haul 50 cars, but that isn’t even going to happen, so why even waste the time and energy. I know why, because companies think it is what the people want to see at auto shows.
There are, however, 6 concept car that could see the light of day soon: Kia GT4 Stinger, Mini Superleggera, Volkswagen Golf R 400, Nissan Idx Freeflow, Hyundai Veloster RM15, and Chevrolet Corvette Zora ZR1. If you look at these vehicle (pictures below) you can see that these concept cars are not futuristic or insanely radical. These are cars that these auto makers made with the intent of bringing them to market in the future.
Chevrolet Corvette Zora ZR1
This vehicle may see the light of day because Chevrolet wants to creat a Super Corvette that is a mid-engine vehicle. There have been rumblings that Chevrolet is going to stick a mid-engine in the next generation Vette or even sooner in the C7 Zr1.
Hyundai Veloster RM15
Hyundai is best known for affordable vehicles, but they have been working on performance and racing vehicles. In the new Veloster Hyundai put in a turbo 2.0 liter engine into the vehicle and it seems they are looking to continue putting in more power as options for the Veloster.
Nissan IDx Freeflow
The Nissan Idx is based off the Datsun 510 which was an icon in the 60’s and 70’s. Nissan wants to bring back the Datsun vehicle, but unsure if it will be a Nissan or if they will bring back the entire Datsun brand. We should be hearing the thumbs up or down this year about this vehicle.
This vehicle would be replacing the Mini Roadster. Mini fans love the vehicle and are holding their breath until this vehicle comes to market. Mum is the word from Mini Execs, but they are open to bringing it to their product line.
Kia GT4 Stinger
Hate to do it, but we saved the best for last. The Kia GT4 Stinger was shown off at the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, MI and the people was fans of the car. Just by looking at it we can all see why. The project is still under development and it may have a sister as well in a Kia GT sedan. Which one, if not both, will come to market?
